Zonk and his minions. Again. We fought valiantly and killed them all. Locating Zonks tower on south west farm, a large group went there and entered the tower. It is becoming quite clear to me that Zonk is not going to leave us alone. And that he is actively searching for ways to destroy us. It is therefore of utmost importance that we learn more about this being and what his intentions are, so we can be able to strike him if we find a weak spot. I have gathered some information from my encounters with him, and I will present it here. Note that this is in my view only, even though some of it comes from talking with this being. I urge anyone who have some information to pass it on. Argh has written a most excellent profile on Zonk that is well worth the read.

Zonk is an old being. No one knows how old. One rumour has it that Zonk is the reason why Mobius chose this island as a place for those he wanted exiled. Maybe Zonk is as old as the island itself, maybe he himself is an exile - placed here by his peers. Argh thought he was a Darshak. We only know that he is. At first we met him mostly in the arachnoid cavern, where he would summon his minions, and sometimes his pets, the black widow. One of the thing I find strange is his politeness. Yes, indeed. He always adress exiles in a most polite manner, never mind that most exiles falls to his pets. He also seems to be obsessed with tidyness - doesn´t want bloodstains on his precious floor. Now he has moved away from the noid cavern. I fear our lack of hunting down there has made him able to work on his tower in peace.

He has build this tower to more easy travel between Puddleby and wherever he calls home. It´s a gateway between our realm and his. It is not his only way to travel, but without it, it is complicated. He can move the entrance to wherever he wants to. He seems to have a limit in how far away he can summon his beasties, meaning that if we encounter some green arachnoids at west beach, chances are that his tower is not far away. In this particular case we found his tower in the southwest farms. On many ocasions he has stated that he is working on some poweful spells. And this is what worries me, and the reason I write this. Because those spells is certain to be spells that he will use against us. A wall of fire hinders us from getting south in hiw tower. From other encounters with him I have learned that this is where he is working on the spell. So, what can we do? Is there anything at all we can do other than fight?

This is the first step in doing something. To learn as much as possible about Zonk and his tower, and maybe someday be able to find a way to destroy him.

Trauma tried to take his own life. Never did I know his history as he tells it here. Much are more clearer to me now.

In a quiet hut, on the floor, lies a ragged and battered Thoom. He is in a
coma. A flask half full of some vile posion is on a table. A note on his
person reads:

I've never spoken of my history.

I won't tell now how an officer of the Ascendancy fell so far he had to
destroy his identity and take refuge among the rebels of the exile colony.
That story ends now, anyway.

I won't apologize for indictments made against the Red Quill, or its
sister syndicate, the Guard of the Golden Tree. Unchecked, these two
organizations will lead to the eradication of the exiles. I'm certain.

I apologize for my violent and unwarranted behaviour of late. The guilt of
my past, and the collapse of my false life in Puddleby have proved more
than an old brain like mine can handle.

Five years ago I buried my name, as I have buried my victims. I use it
now, at my own end.

In shame,

Thraumatox Gli

And Paramedic writes :

Many healers tried to raise Trauma from the effects of the poison, but we had
no success.

Finally, he went into a deep coma, and emerged as Thraumatox Gli.

The poison has left him in bad shape, and he's going to have to spend a lot
of time recovering. He remains very weak and somewhat suicidal.

Paramedic

"Fallen and helpless / cold wind blowing through our ears / Dal'Noth dead are we" Paramedic.

Ah well... I was sort of supposed to be a rescuer here. And there is sort of nothing new in this sketch. I mean, you have seen them before haven´t you... Same place, same beasties roaming around fallens.. And there are more fallens north. This time we were lucky enough to get saved by Blitz, who quickly dispatched of those awful beasties. Speaking of Blitz, it´s strange isn´t it.. The way you make new friends in the lands I mean. I have been hunting with this Fen for ages, always part of a larger group. And before his change to Fen from Dwarf, he was often a grumpy one. I don´t care much for grumpiness. But after the change, he has been kinder. And then something happens that make you take another look at the one you thought you knew. Now I am glad to call him a good friend and hunting partner. You just never know do you.

Well, well well! The pressure is on. Oh dear. I know he is lying of course. I am nowhere near those who have passed the fourth circle test, but still. I proved it right afterwards. Went in, head all high, only to fall to the greater Wraith.. so..no surprise there. But I do remember from the third circe test that he started saying this a long time before I actually passed. I guess this is the same. For those who don´t know, in the fourth circle fighter test you have to kill 1 Greater Wraith, 1 Green Arachnoid and an Orga Fury. In time. As far as I know there are only 4 exiles that have passed it, although 2 others are close..

Vagile had a very successfull witch (Prue) stab the other day. Unfortunately Prue took her to court. The charge was : assault with a poisoned witch sticker. Now, everybody knows that Prue is the one with knowledge in all things poison, not Vagile. I am sure Vagile when she stabbed the witch(Prue) hit a bottle of something. Not Vagile´s fault of course, that Prue carries around so many strange things. Anyway, Prue was slowly getting more and more sick, until she collapsed in court. Vagile was found guilty and sentenced to jail. Apparently it was a hired hit. Vagile doesn´t do these things for freee you know. May I congrulate Vagile with a hit well done!

There is more ugly things coming from the witches, and this time it involves my beloved. Luce claims that the child she is carrying is Sleipnir´s. The nerve! I have spoken to my love about this, and I do believe him when he says that this is a lie. As he would then for medical and natural reasons have done something that disgusts him, to be physical with Luce. That is, if not the witches has made this act syntetically or something other witchlike - the child can not be Sleipnir´s. If you ask me, I bet it´s a random Darshak or something that is the father..Gaia knows..

Prue continued to spred her venom, saying that Sleipnir was the father of Luce´s child, claiming even that we now were almost like family. She even insisted on calling me cousin! Gaia forbid! So, of course my love charged her for slander - but alas the verdict was innocent! Both my love and me were deeply saddened and hurt by this. It seems to me that the court do work in these situation when there are other exiles in the boxes than my love and me. Shame on you Puddleby! This I swear I will never forget. Where are the evidence that this is true? That my love really is the father of the child ? Isn´t it slander when you spread these kind of rumours withouth a shred of evidence? Shame, shame on you Puddleby!

The first Best of the Weak (BOW) took place in the arena. Where mystics and no-professions of all skills and levels could participate. It was entertaining to see them whack at eachother, but I was rather occupied with defending my bag of cookies. Indeed, as many knows Arbilad is one master cookie baker - and I have saved many of those for occasions like these. Unfortunately I was discovered in my munching, and quickly cornered by several cookie-hungry fen´s and cloaks. I need to see Arbilad again that is clear.. While the tourney went on, there were some action going on in the audience box as well - both Gareth and Ser Zwei was eager to test their axes and many others. At one point the whole box except a few were down to yellow there...

Aki the patient one became full mystic today. The first in our lands after the war. He was glowing a lot after the meeting with The Mystic Guild. Fearsome he was, like he was all powerful . I must admit I got a little scared by his appearance and was delighted when he took his robe off. Congratulations Aki! His mind seems sharper after this though, or his eyes - I don´t know. Seems like he has a X-ray vision these days. Seeing things he shouldn´t or has no right to. I better stay away. Not that I have anything to hide mind you, but I don´t like being mindread that´s all. Speaking of which - I sometimes am stunned by all the mind readers in our town. I swear, the next one trying to do that to me I will pummel in the arena or send to jail!

Week 50

Dr Jacobsen did a proper examination of my love some days ago, and indeed. My love is pox-free. That means of course that he is not the father of Luce´s child, because as everyone knows - all witches have pox. It´s common knowledge. My love was actually a bit worried for a moment there. See, they are witches - with access to spells and whatnot. So, how could he really be sure that Luce had not come to him in the shape of me? Enspelled him so that he saw Babajaga Vanimalda, and not an ugly witch? That question disturbed us both, but we are full of joy that Dr Jacobsen turned out to be so wise and understanding, and skilled in his craft.

Elenis has returned to the lands! Hooray! I am in great debt to Polgara and Angel who made this possible. The land became so much more brighter with his presence. Another long lost friend made his way out from the library this week too. Nevyn. Apparently he had been trapped by all his notes, and all he could do while waiting to be rescued was eat those notes. Not much nutrition though, he looked awful. sigh, I do miss him. I am still hoping that he will be able to be in the lands more

I said farewell to my love today. He will not be in the lands for a long, long time. 4 months he said. 4 months!! That is an eternity! A lifetime! How I will survive I do not know. We have never been so long apart, What will I do? Who will I talk to now when the storms are brewing, who will I dance with in the meadow when the moon is glimmering, who will I seek out in the library behind those rows of books. sigh. I do have friends in the lands, I am a lucky sylvan in that respect. And I am not so alone anymore, as I rarely hunt solo. There was a time when this would have killed me. Now I have exiles around me, and I am glad that this happened now, and not before.

What I do miss very much is to be able to hunt with the closest of friends. Although I can stay in midpass and talk and brick - I grow inpatient if this goes on for many hours, as I do not learn anything from the beasts, and the challenge and carnage level is low. As a sylvan warrior, I need both the latter. I grow wild when this need is not met. But although my hunts with those I first met when I came here has gone down, I still consider them my best friends, and I have been fortunate enough to make new ones. I have hunted with many over these years since the war. Grown together have we in many ways. We hunted the hive, and the passes together, met eachother in deep cavern and savanna. And have been fallen together in Dark chamber. Nothing beats that.. Those I value most are the skilled ones, the clever and polite ones. The compassionate and warm ones. And there are a few of those. A toast to you all. My main hunting partner among others these days is Blitz. A sweet and kind Fen he is, very clever and skilled. We have great times together and have fun calling ourselves the BB´s. Timber! The quakes in rocky cave is measured on Blitz-scale these days. From 1 to 8. I have experienced a 6.9 blitz. That left 4 fallens, and the rest red or yellow. The 8 blitz I hope I will never experience. Viper is another I had great times hunting with . And White Wolf. Both very skilled, and I do remember times they have done some really impressive work, that left me in awe. A thought like "Wow. How did they manage that!" everything from trapping a beast, to dodging or rescuing while running etc..

Arocet did one of those stunts last night. We were hunting in dark chamber. The lands are a bit slow these days. Not much to hunt, and we grew inpatient and wanted to try something else. It´s a long time since I have been there, as the latest architectural changes in DC has made it more efficient to hunt elsewhere. What I mean by that? Ask me in the lands and I will tell you. Anyway, the carnage level in DC is always high in the beginning - entering the chamber itself is not without risk. I was trapped earlier, and this Zo came running in - pummeling all those beasties that kept me from escaping , and I was able to dive into the tunnel alive. Hooray! This time it was Yoshida´s turn, so we all stormed in, and we all were surrounded. This situation is not so bad though. I mean, in Dc it´s usually worse.. when you first are trapped I mean..

A terrible thing has happened with a dear friend of mine. The good Thoom K´pyn has been enslaved by the wicked witch Prue, and looks on her as his mistress and leader. Oh dear! And if that was not enough, he slayed that sweet Elenis in the arena. Elenis! Those two have been friends for ages, and now this! We are trying our best to help K´pyn , and seek advice with wiser minds than ours. Somehow we must be able to break this spell, as a raving mad K´pyn is not safe for our town and it´s citizens. Gathering support, the sister witches are growing strong, and fearless. I fear the future.

A small group of the finest warriors and healers went after the Culcan that has terrorized our seas for a time. Many efforts had been made to kill it , ending with disaster every time. At one point the whole south sea was littered with fallen bodies and boats without control. The more experienced exiles said it behaved like a liche. So we fought it like a Liche. A healer-trap, and warriors going in and swinging at it. In the end it had to die of course. Not many beasts can withstand a group of the warriors of Puddleby! And I helped! Hooray!

Althea made a travel back to the mainland and was there able to capture Sendorian and bring him back to Puddleby. After a trial he was sent to jail, for there to stay until Puddleby have decided what to do with him. I don´t really understand why she went trough all that just to put him in jail. I would think a proper hanging would be in order. From a signpost, in townsquare. He was after all the one who murdered the Righteous One, Sir West. And any punishment is to weak in my opinion. May he burn where souls like his burn, forever!

A rather large and strange invasion of dark vermins, death vermins and faithless´near the mirrors in south forest. All the exiles in the lands at the time came to help, or so it seemed, This sketch does not show the scope of this battle at all, as there were many present at the time. Working our way down south, we were met by a large wave of vermins in all shape and forms. They killed all in their way, almost like a forest fire it was. The strange part of it was the location, so close to the mirrors. As you know the mirrors that before the war were able to take us to places like the glacier and the desert, have been closed for us since the Ripture War. I am only guessing here, there is not much to prove this, but it seems forces are fighting to yet again open them to us - and that these forces are met by hard resistance. And that this invasion of critters was the result of our enemies winning. I do not know.. After the battle many gathered around the mirror, trying to open it. But alas, no result. We didn´t try what we had in mind though, to drag Algernon down south again and let him open them. As all went crazy went he left the town see.. There is more to that halfling than meets the eye, as Weezoh can tell you.
